Bangladeshi Films screened in Rome Film Festival
The Mission took initiative for participation of Bangladesh at a film festival in Rome,
organized by Apollo 11, a local cultural organization in collaboration with the City
Council of Rome from 18-23 July,2007. Bangladesh was one of the theme countries in the
festival and, was invited for screening of selected films. Two award-winning Bangla
films(Antarjatra & Nirontar) as approved by the concerned authorities in Bangladesh
were screened in Rome. The festival attracted a good number of Italian intellectuals and
cultural personalities who appreciated the quality of the films , among others. The
participation of our films in the festival not only helped project a positive image of the
country but also provided an opportunity to showcase our potentials in this sector to the
Italians, well-known for their phenomenal passion for art and culture.
